FACTS ON OUR STONE
Thorgrimson Stoneart Inc. offers
soapstone with no fractures, (stone has not been blasted).
The stone is from our; (family managed for 35 years) quarry
in North Western Ontario.
We can supply large pieces of stone not easily available
elsewhere.
The stone has been analyzed and shows no indication of
asbestos or asbestos like deposits.
Samples of the stone are available upon request.
The stone has an approximate talc content of 50% to 65%.
The stone is available in a variety of sizes ranging from 2
pounds to several thousand pounds.
Colour of unfinished stone is medium grey; sometimes with
black lines running through.
The stone can be finished using a variety of substances to
give it different colours and looks.
Inquiries concerning use as a print making stone are welcome.
Inquiries as to tried and proven methods (ie. tools. etc )
are always welcome.
For reference purposes, a 12 inch cubed piece
of stone weighs approximately 175 lbs.
Pricing Policy
Any shipping costs are in addition to the cost of the stone
(F.O.B. from Kenora)
Special requests for specific stone may carry extra costs
which will be determined upon request.
Each piece is individual in shape and varies in weight
